  1. Visit a dentist every six months

Dental issues are slow or gradual processes. By the time you are writhing in pain, they are usually at advanced stages. This can easily be detected and worked on by visiting your favourite dental clinic every six months. This will lead to early detection of any arising dental issues and allow the same to be worked on early enough.

The recommended interval is every six months, and if you can visit them three times in a year, it will still be okay.

  1. Give your teeth a good brush

A good brush does not mean being thorough for just 30 seconds, spit, and rinse your mouth. A good brush translates to brushing your teeth for not less than 2 minutes. This includes gently brushing your tongue and your cheeks from the inside. A good brush is going to prevent bacteria build up in your mouth.

  1. Brush your teeth at least twice

It is highly recommended that you brush your teeth at least twice each day. This loosely means in the morning and just before going to bed. Again this prevents bacteria from building up in your mouth and at the same time disrupts plaque from building up. Continually doing so will always leave your mouth feeling fresh and healthy.

It is important to note that you are not restricted to brushing your teeth only twice a week. If you can, do it after every meal and especially after consuming sugary foods.

  1. Replace your toothbrush every 90 days

The recommended time of using your toothbrush is a period not exceeding three months. At this point, your toothbrush is considered unclean or can no longer effectively brush your teeth. It is therefore advised to get a fresh toothbrush. This will also, to some extent, prevent plaque and bacteria build up in your mouth.

  1. Use recommended kinds of toothpaste

To effectively clean your mouth, you will use a tube of toothpaste or mouthwash. Sometimes some of these products might have adverse effects on your mouth or overall health. It is therefore advised to use recommended toothpaste or mouthwash.
