A partial denture normally includes replacement teeth which are fixed to a gum-coloured plastic base. The latter is in some cases connected by a metal framework which supports the gum inside the mouth. These dentures are utilized when one or more natural teeth remain in either upper or lower lip of a patient. Fixed teeth are used for replacing one or multiple teeth by placing crowns on both sides of the teeth and attaching artificial teeth to them.
When should you opt for partial dentures?
Partial dentures are best suited for people who have speech related issues because of missing teeth. They are user-friendly and can be easily adjusted and repaired. Partial dentures help in checking the drifting of adjacent teeth inside the gap created by the missing teeth. Partial dentures can be maintained easily as they can be removed and cleaned without any hassles. These dentures can be used for restoring longer gaps created by missing teeth. The major benefit of partial dentures is that they protect adjacent natural teeth without causing any harm.
What types of treatments do we offer?
At Rapha Dental Centre, we offer treatment for both fixed & removable partial dentures. To decide what type of partial denture would suit you, we take into consideration the health of your teeth surrounding the gap. The details of both these treatments are mentioned below-
Fixed Partial Denture- Also known as a dental bridge, it is used to permanently attach artificial teeth directly to the patient’s jaw either with a dental crown or below the gum tissue with dental implants.
Removable Partial Denture- This type of denture is also called a removable dental bridge. It is used to fill the existing gap between two healthy teeth and includes replacement teeth which are fixed to a gum-coloured plastic base. These partial dentures are connected through a metal framework which ensures that they stay in one place.
